October 12, 200519 yr Simon, Ripete are a totally legit outfit in South Carolina. They are starting to release one or two 45's from the original master tapes. Moses Dillard, The Nomads, The Appreciations etc plus they have new recordings too of things like 'Have I The Right'-the Chuck Cockerham track. The owner does have the rights to many Carolina and South Eastern USA labels.Ripete are at the forefront of the Beach music scene. Check them out at www.ripete.com

October 13, 200519 yr I couldn't find any mention of these 7" singles on their site?! :search: You won't do, as they are slowly entering the UK market. I doubt they could sell Moses Dillard in any decent quantity. I think the idea is to make available very slowly a few decent titles. At least they have the tapes and are creating a few neat collectors items for fans that don't want to pay £500 plus. It doesn't affect the original's value. The problem is, with the record business in the state its in, I am having difficulty selecting enough tracks that could even sell 300 for them. As I said to their label boss Marion Carter, the master list would have been gold even 10 yrs ago. Today, its all very 'little and often' . Hopefully we'll see a couple of interesting items soon. For the record The Oxford Nights is coming on Delphi as they own it. It will either sell 500 or die a death. Hope it ain't the latter!
