It is by Lewis Bethune and called "Chi-Town Boogaloo", released on Sack and it's stated to be "a Tru-Glo-Town production" on the label. Seems to be quite damn rare as it very seldom crops up for sale. Details:

Lewis Bethune - Chi-Town Boogaloo / I Want You So Bad - SACK 4363

B-side is written by Dee Irwin.

Ooo..have you got a sound file?

maybe they just ran out of the colors to make the rainbow. its happened here at work before, a real bummer when the yellow toner's empty.

If only they had run out of tape on the day this was recorded the world would be a much better place!

Erm, not a tune for me either. I had a dream last week, a vision of my afterlife if I continue my sinful ways. I was locked in a room listening to Jive Bunnies megamix of My baby likes to boogaloo, Carbon Copy and Second class lover.

I just know Martin's going to play all of them now at the next Blue Skies.

Funny what is one mans heaven is another one's hell.............. I would play Cookie Jackson if I get my tax rebate in time

If I didn't know photo copiers didn't exist back in the 60s, I'd say the b+w one could be mighty suspect.. maybe it was done with carbon paper.. That aside, the green one does look cool on a Tee:

I only heard the Emperors take at Luton a few weeks ago....I like both

Being of the old mod /fart brigade I think Don Gardner's version is great....so there!

Lenny

So do I Lenny and I'm not even an old mod or fart  Its just got such energy and when the opening bars stream out of the speakers I have to get on the floor and dance

being honest i like the emperors better ( heard the don gardner too many times) BUT neither of them should be anywhere near a northern soul dancefloor

The thing is Davie, lots of records shouldn't be near a Northern Soul dance floor, but they are

If I didn't know photo copiers didn't exist back in the 60s,

the first XEROX machine came out in the mid 50's so you never know!

I just had to dance when i heard it...took me a few months to track a mint one down...£50 if I remember but I've seen it on manship for £100 now

last couple on e-bay have been about £40 /£50 if I remember rightly. Saw this on a list very recently for £30.

Anyone who pays a ton wants there head looking at

Too true, i picked one up at Keele for £30 a few months back, which makes me think it's losing popularity now...

Ah, there in itself lies an old chestnut.. if it weren't for the likes of Ady & Randy's 6Ts Rhythm & Soul Club [which was ALL about mod tunes] more than likely you'd never even have the opportunity [well at least that's true darn Sarf]. Blimey, there are so many great boogaloo records on the scene these days and considering none of us are getting any younger, I welcome the more compassionate tempo :wicked:

If you really wanna get finickety try aiming a bit lower down the musical chain at say, popcorn !!

i don't feel it has a danceable northern beat at all ..... the guitar makes it a cracking mod tune that i play at mod do's ( well i'll play the emperors one) never a northern tune

That statement would rule out most of Staffords playlist too !! Blige :wicked:
would it?
From what I can remember, yes.
