MICKEY Posted June 20, 2011 Share Posted June 20, 2011 Well what we thought was gonna be a quiet one with being on the tail end of 3 consecutive days of soul in Bradford, turned out to be a packer. In fact we had a few more in than usual. Some great music and a cracking atmosphere and loads of new faces, so lets hope the next 1 on August 21st is as good. Guest Posted June 20, 2011 Share Posted June 20, 2011 A fab day of quality soul music in the atmospheric cellar bar of the Beehive. The further North I come the rawer and grittier the music gets with a different set of people , attitudes and dj's. All guys inc. Graham Slater and Pete Roberts played stunning tunes that had everyone up on the floor, all the old Wheel, Casino, Mecca and Cleethorpes classics were there and we stomped, spun and hand-clapped our way through sets that crossed all genres. 20 mins in I think I was 3rd on the floor with Spyder Turner "lovely", but then sat in awe at all the fantastic dancers (you know who you all are!) Also made a new friends from Wigan, Derby and Shipley who said they hoped I would be back, I have to say the best afternoon of soul music in a while. Thank you so much I felt privileged to be invited -my feet ached afterwards and we are already looking forward to the next one (in August I believe!) ATB Mick from Sheffield Link to comment
