July 7, 201113 yr the kids in my class introduced hiom to me, nay bat at all, and I'm pretty cynical to retro acts.
July 7, 201113 yr Saw him at Glasto. Pretty disappointing to be honest. I expected something a bit tougher and bit less show-biz but apart from a pretty bizarre cover of the Velvet Underground's Femme Fatale it was all a bit boring. We went to the organic wine tent and then hit the made fiddle bands in the Green Fields for a bit.
July 7, 201113 yr Well i only caught him at Glastonbury via the TV (an acapella set and his live show) and what i saw was mightily impressive (imho)

July 7, 201113 yr Each to their own of course, but I don't think he'll be giving Sharon Jones or our own Alice Russell a run for their money.
July 8, 201113 yr I have to say I was a bit disappointed with the live show too. Not terrible, but definitely a bit too "show-bizzy" if that makes any sense.

I wasn't trying to compare him to in terms of giving anyone a run for their money? I enjoyed what I saw and thought he had strong impressive vocals.............that was good enough for me Nowt wrong with a bit of 'show business' either imho!
July 8, 201113 yr Saw him in Birmingham a few months ago, brillant night.Brought the house down with I need a dollar.
July 10, 201113 yr bought his album on the back of hearing "dollar", one of the most bland albums ive ever heard, free to good home
