I present an Internet Northern Soul show and I'm thinking of doing a Mr M's special for the whole two hours of my slot,

Any suggestions for an all time Mr. M's playlist ??

Thanks in advance.

Update on some of the tracks suggested

Gene Chandler - Nothing Can Stop Me

Otis Blackwell - It's All Over Me

August & Deneen - We Go Together

Ronnie & Robyn - As Long As You Love Me

Mitch Ryder - Breakout

Vel-Vets - I've Got To Find Me Somebody

Ann Perry - That's The Way He Is (instr)

Vibrations - Cause You're Mine

Mr.Floods Party - Compared To What

The Velours - I'm Gonna Change

Don Thomas - Come On Train

Saxie Russell - Psychedelic Soul

Ace Cannon - Sea Cruise

Nolan Chance - Just Like The Weather

Gene Chandler - I Can Take Care Of Myself

Gwen & Ray - Build Your House On A Strong Foundation

Reggie Garner - Hotline

Younghearts - Togetherness

The Monitors - Save A Little Love

Going to stop this now,The oldies played in Mr.M's depended on when you started going to the Casino,And of course,What you classed as an oldie at the time,If you went in 79 - 80 for example, your views on Mr.M's tunes would be different I suppose to someone who stopped going in 76-77,

Many thank's to everyone who posted,

Jackie Lee - Shotgun & Duck - 100% floorshaker in that superb room!!!!

Still on for your Birthday party tomorrow night matey !!! PSSST ! ALANS 55 TOMORROW

Same for me too.................couldn't wait to get out of the main hall.....................used to get in the queue early so we could get the table on the back wall upstairs!! :D

My top tune back then was Dust My Broom - Ike & Tina.............

.

. Can anyone tell me the artist of the other version of Gimme some a lovin' an instrumental (not by Spencer Davis). I remember it well.

.

I'll go with:

The Contours - Baby hit & run

The Isley Bros - Tell me it is just a rumour

as the biggest floor-fillers upstairs.

I can remember gettin an itchy scalp in Mr Ms & havin to retire to the ballroom.

Took me a while to venture on to the dancefloor in M's as it used to scare me sh*!less as a young kid, but I remember the first record I danced to in there was Ramsey Lewis' 'Wade in the Water' and the last tune I remember hearing in there was Sylvesters' 'You Make Me Feel Mighty Real'.

You Make Me Feel !! Was that played in M's ???

I asked Russ Winstanley a while back if it ever got played in the main hall and he said 100% No !!

It must have been towards the end because Sylvester didn't come out til 1978 and it was in the charts for months on end,

Pigbag also in M's thank god I'd stopped going

Anyway I started this thread almost 18 months ago,And the radio show it was first used to advertise is still going strong,

On this afternoon 3-5 Uk time 15.00 - 17.00 Gmt,

Michael Harvey (MickeyFish)is on with me today

I distinctly remember Sylverster being played maybe around 78/79. 100% as I thought it was a bit strange compared to the usual fare served up in there.I remember M's being totally empty. Sure it was one of those 'quiet nights' when the Casino was next to empty. There seemed to be a mass exodus at one point during the late 70's.
