whats the original 7 inch issue of sweet sherry?

I know it came out on the rare stamps first, but was the blue/ green boot before the contempo issue?

Which format should you play it from to consider it OVO? has anyone got an orig acetate of was it just a tape cut? thanks in advance, its always puzzled me, the history of a long loved oldie.

Also theres another version I think it might be a live recording from 80s to support the demand coming from the revival in the scootering scene of the time.

I remember selling loads of them at the time as 14 year working in the Arcade record shop in Sunny Weston also around the same time I seem to remember he also released Competion Aint Nothing the record label escapes me at the moment.

Timeline works for me Dave, but I think you mean the St. Lawrence boots of Fat man/Working at the go-go, The Joker was at least a year later.

It was, definitely 1974 for The Joker.

My train of thought says ,if contempo actually paid someone for the rights to press it on 45 ,then unless flynny's "holy grail " actually exists ,this has to be the one to play out.

That said...most places who play it out these days ,wouldn't give two hoots what format it was on lol

P.s ..there's a groovesville on rarenorthernsoul website for £30

And a contempo for £20

Finially the only way to play it, unless as you stated Flynny's wonderkind issue ever turns up, would be off the 'stamps' LP, a pain I sposse. I asked Everson on sat who suprised me in saying it would of been played of the lp at the torch along with the isleys on starline, what good enough for hoe street it good enough for me!

HI PETE I must have done more damage than I released as them years were VERY hedonistic, anyway it was before the TORCH closed (I think!)

What year was the 1st boot of DUKE BROWNER and all the CANTERBURY & SOUL-TOWN BOOTS? They were before things like ROCKY ROBERT'S, FREDDIE CHAVEZ, LESLEY UGGAMS and so on, and by 75 you could get most of the early Wigan records on BOOTLEGS,

In 73 Chris Button's Out of the Past label turned into the white label OOTP, someone must no the order on when they where released? JM BOOK misses the years out! DAVE
