December 29, 201113 yr plenty of people more qualified to talk about grapevine on here than me billy but for instance a friend of mine bought narbay on grapevine as a uk original which it is but it was still released in the 70s when there is a 60s us release...just down to individual promoters and djs when it comes to playing out i suppose other tracks such as betty boo were only released on grapevine as far as i know dean
December 29, 201113 yr John Anderson's Grapevine label started out about 1977 I think Richard Yes Richard I remember it well, three releases all at the same time to kick start the label. Then soon after came the Flaming Emeralds which might puzzle some of the younger members on here, but it was a massive record at Wigan in April 77 as I am sure you'll recall. And that explains some of the other releases like Ronnie Love, Judy Street, Happy Cats etc. The red label came later with Brinstone Ingram etc. and I remember John telling me they didn't take off because Elvis died and the RCA presses were stopped and all filled with re-pressing everything they had on Elvis.
