Got this a while back from Pete Smith, some awesome tracks on it and as you superb Esther Phillips also a tear in the eye for Marvin & Tammi, but I really had to laugh at Spiral Staircase, just how ugly a group can you get? they looked like something from the Wheeltappers and Shunters club, dig those dodgy barnets!, but in all a quite breathtaking line up of soul stars in their original format

major lance ,what a great dancer that man is on this clip, however his lip-sinc leaves a lot to be desired!

There's a Vol 2 to this that's just as good. We played these DVDs projected onto the wall at the Hitsville Record Show in October. Could have sold 50. Great stuff.

Then there's one I did 3 years back called Soul A GoGo which was all the soul stuff from Hullaballoo and was the source for some of the Legends dvd's, and I also did a 50+ track one taken from The Beat series, featuring just the performances of Northern interest. There's more. But dvd's can't be advertised on site.

Speaking of The Beat, Nick Brown tipped me off that Bear Family have put the whole series out from original master tapes, 6 DVDs worth, quality of the music can be a bit variable and the set is hard to find, I got them from the US in the end, despite Bear Family being in Germany. Picture quality is superb though.

That distributor in Bexhill was stocking those mate, they were about 19.99 each I think.

Not much compensation but Eddie does Love You Baby on Levine's SWONS video - it's not great. I've also got him doing it live onstage at Yarmouth. Not a pretty site.
