Edwin Starr - My Kind Of Woman - How Rare, And What's It Going For These Days?

Posted

Hi Everyone,

I was listening to a soul compilation on my computer and heard this track. How often does this 45 come up for sale, and what's it going for these days?

Many thanks!

The other side is also brilliant "You're My Mellow" - this is one of the best Detroit double-siders around - superb drumming on "You're My Mellow" too

In M-/Ex condition something like £150 for an issue??

Much, much rarer on a demo (looks like the issue but has the 'Not for Sale' etc writing on).

Cheers

Richard

I thought it might be a bit cheaper around £100 for an issue (though admittedly from memory its always vg's I see, don't think there are too many ex's so Richard's evaluation probably right)

See one every few weeks on ebay in vg condition. Rare as a minter.

Always seems the same with "Can't Stop Looking For My Baby" - Fantastic Four - Ric Tic, just about every copy is in vg/ bad condiition. A minter must be rare!

Can't remember who it was, but I sold a demo to someone on here not realising it was a demo, and he took the time to PM take the piss out of me for selling a demo so cheap!

Here's a scan of a "You're my mellow" demo. Doesn't look that much different to an issue. If anybody's interested, it's signed by Edwin. I think I sold it for about 150/180 in VG+ condition.

Thats nice! think I would have thanked you seeing how hard it is to get.

Most copies of Edwin Starr I've seen advertised for sale although not in great condition to look at, usually still play really well, lound n clear etc.....my copy of Edwin Starr falls into this bracket, not great to look at but plays as good as a mint copy....my copy of Fantastic Four is just glorious all round, plays and looks mint -
