had a guy from france buy a record - did not pay for signed for delivery

paid using paypal.

claims did not recieve the record & then has filed for a paypal refund.

paypal have told me they will refund his money even though I have a proof of posting receipt.

it seems that unless you have a tracking number the buyer can process a full refund from paypal just by saying he hasn't recieved the record.

mine is only costing me a tenner but someone is going to get stung for £100's.

just thought I'd pass the info on.

I think a similar thing was mentioned on here a little while back. The suggestion was to only quote for signed for postage in future.

Just another warning about the bidders with zero feedback. If they do actually stump up the money for the record. Make sure it is sent signed on delivery. Otherwise a grand to a penny they will claim it never arrived, and Paypal always side with the buyer in my experience. Only a signed receipt will stop the money being refunded from your account.

Yeah it was me, exactly the same thing happened, I even had the f*cking tracking number but they said that wasn't proof enough. Looks like the only thing I could have done was to hand deliver it. Paypal have done this to me twice now, in fact one guy today has claimed he didn't receive 2 singles I sent him in november despite me saying in the listing that if they didn't pay for recorde delivery I would not be responsible. However, he went via paypal and they WILL come down on his saide so I've just given him the money.

This is the last time I'll ever be caught out like this. Overseas buyers are now going to have to pay for insurance if they use paypal and UK buyers will have no choice, recorded/special or nothing.

Love to know who this French person is, I got done twice in the same month by having this trick pulled on me.

i just wont accept paypal at all anymore , i reckon over 3 years i have lost over £3000 seriously ... not only do they refund buyers but they act as judge and jury over money you have in there account i have had 2 accounts frozen as well with over £800 in each ....ill only take bidpay from overseas

Bad news on the Bidpay front. I went to pay for something today and apparently they ceased operations on Dec 31st.

Yeah,been there,done that,sorry mean been dun.......recorded or special delivery only,best way.....in fact little bit p*ssed off with paypal and ebay just now.....they must be quids in with all us mugs!

when I phoned paypal all I got was some stupid person reading off a script.
