Lovely record indeed and I'm not sure which came first...JR Bailey's version or Universal Joint. Quite different prices demand for each and either way....superb "goose bump" soul to my ears. :thumbsup:

Doh. Forgotten about J R Bailey version so question is relevant for both of them.

Universal Joint apparently included Rob Parissi, later of Wild Cherry ("Play That Funky Music White Boy" etc). They were from Steubenville, Ohio.

Despite refusing to believe it at first, 'hold on' is a great Wild Cherry track - both on their lp that contains 'play that funky music' and the later re-recording on 45 (slightly veering off there...). and both versions will cost you the total of about a fiver between them i'd expect!
