February 16, 201312 yr There are quite a lot of these about but most seem to be VG at best, though they play OK. I reckon a clean one woul be 80 to 100 but this sort of tempo is out of fashion at the mo (apart from in my house) so I could be wrong. Seen it up to 200 in the past though.
February 16, 201312 yr It's a great record. Never used to be keen - not 'Northern' enough - until I made myself open my mind and listen to it - what a groove Cheers Richard
February 16, 201312 yr Loved it for 30 years! Anybody know the geography of this, is it just me or sounds kinda N.O. to me despite the Detroit label? Would have said 100 - 120 Edited February 16, 201312 yr by Windlesoul

Would have said 100 - 120 Well Jimmy Gilford was on Thelma, Wheelsville and Solid Hit - all Detroit labels - and spread over 3 or 5 years I guess. Cheers Richard
February 16, 201312 yr At least a few of the wheelsville / d-town etc stuff were southern ( Memphis / Nashville) recordings. Just wondering if this was one of them maybe?

Quite possible mate - as you say at least several Lee Rogers on Wheelsville, some Buddy Lamp on Wheelsville, a couple on Sport and several on Sir-Rah were recorded there. Anyone know about the Jimmy Gilfords please? Cheers Richard Edited February 16, 201312 yr by Premium Stuff

Maybe not too high on tempo but this is a great dance record with style. In my very humble opinion of course. Peter
February 16, 201312 yr This record was a hit in the Chicago - Detroit - Cleveland corridor, it's pretty easy to find used copies there. JG was from that area. He has relative(s) in the Cleveland area, a friend of mine there said they had met a relative, although I don't think JG was from Cleveland, Indiana maybe?
