got a little collection going of UK recorded and released tracks, Susan Maughan being my most recent addition, so add that to Emma Rede, James Galt, and half a dozen others, can folk suggest some good ones to pick up, I love Beat Ballads so you cant suggest enough of those...

Disqualified because it was a US recording though

I always wondered how this UK release came about. Was it like a phone call to the UK MGM office "Hello London! We got a song here. Recorded by a bunch of High School musicians and a priest. We don't think anyone in the ex-colonies would buy it. But maybe you guys in old europe do?"

There's also Don Charles version on Parlophone but possibly of more interest, an unissued Pye acetate by Stuart Smith, this was a one off which I sold last year for £500.

HI ALL NICE ONE PETE the ACCITATE you mentioned was not bad at all, If it is the one MICK played a couple of years ago

DON CHARLES IS MY FAVE.

BENJI I AGREE with your point of view and as such the matter is closed on this one< at least for the time being, Also I am sure their are more versions of this classic (DRIFTER)
