According to Dave Raistrick the orange is the first press, not the yellow

 

There was a thread on here about it - some time last year I think

 

Dave discovered the record when he was in the US and I'm sure he posted on the thread that it was the orange label copy

What you say aout Dave is correct about finding the orange copy(s) but according to Luckey Davis the yellow was first.

all original either way yellow being a bit rarer

I agree Dave it matters little. Highland used whatever was available at the time, the owner wasn't one for spending money to do anything a certain way. Arthur Wright told me a lot depended on where Sid Talmedge's credit was good and who he owed money too.

I'll go with that then - I've had quite a few copies on orange but only two on yellow

my yellow came from mr manship when it was beeing played ! 1st press !

So what's in the deadwax of the yellow or white one?

Yellow copy is the same.

I would imagine they were pressed very close to each other. One being a second run after the first sold or they ran out of one colour label.
