I have seen this on 2 labels

 

ROSS and Sac-Soul City

 

other than a couple of hundred quid what is the difference on these.

 

I'm assuming one is the first local release (?)

Ross was first, the other came out a few years later I believe

This is interesting too as it threw up a suggestion that the Sac Soul City (2nd release) was a styrene issue of poor quality - which definitely isn't the case with all copies of it:

 

I wrote that as, at the time, all 3 copies on Sac-Soul that knew of were very hissy sounding so was happy when first copy on Ross showed up and got it home to find played clean, glad to find later it's not the case with all of them

My copy on Sac-soul city plays and looks perfect

PO> Cheers Michael that makes sense. Little Stanley Lippett's site puts both releases on Sac Soul as '69 - I'm guessing this is incorrect then and that Little Willie Ross is '72 same time as the BBR re-release? Be interesting to know if there is anything else on the label?
