Paypal - Shower Of B*stards

Don't know if anyone else has ever had this but I just had my paypal account randomly frozen (presumably because of increased activity).

 

They wouldn't put it back online until I'd sent them all sorts of proof of postage, a scan of my driving licence (they wanted invoices as well until I finally persuaded them I was selling part of a private record collection, most of which I'd owned for 25 years) etc.

 

This stop might have been understandable if had never sold stuff on the account before (I usually sell about £2-5k a year of various things) and I didn't have 100% positive feedback going back 12 years - but it's effing annoying being treated like a criminal.

 

Anyway FINALLY back on (having had to make a 30 mile round trip home to get the postage proof stuff).

 

Anyone who's ordered records - everything paid up to Monday Evening was posted yesterday (80 odd packages) the remainder paid yesterday and first thing this morning will be posted today.

Had the same issue quite recently with my paypal and then again a couple of days ago with the wife's account.  Wondered if I'd been spending a bit more than normal to be honest!

Yes, had it a few times.

 

Always followed the instructions regarding providing ID - but it never worked.

 

Several very frustrating phone calls later etc.  :dash2:

 

I suppose better safe than sorry - but it is a pain in the butt when it happens.

Par for the course Dave. Tis Pay pal's way of eliminating money laundering allegedly If the money into an account shows unusual activity or numerous transactions it gets flagged up .

 

Don't take it personally - all us who are registered with business accounts on Pay pal have gone through a similar policing in the past .

 

All started with dubious sellers from Nigeria , Russia selling mobile phones and disappearing into the ether with monies on Pay Pal so you can see their point of view.

 

Footnote Pay Pal is owned by Ebay - they bought them out and tightened procedures along the way.....

is this just with business accounts or for private one's as well ?

steve just read the link when it say's paypal is broken does that mean broke as in in trouble or broken as in fcuked ?

one thing that's frustrating is the various levels of skill in their phone support. sometimes you get a dumbass who just tells you wrong information, sometimes you get someone who knows what they're talking about.
