What does the stamped 225 on some of them denote?

The time...playing time...

I have one stamp 235 on one side and 230 on the other.

Just checked the U.S. original, I think its the playing time.

Never really thought about it before.

I'll have to check but I think I have a few, all with 225 stamped on them. Surely they all can't be 2.25 minutes long

Green onions : Booker T and the MGs Yellow London Demo has 400 stamped on it . They werent making records 4 minutes long in 1962 were they?

They don't all have 225 stamped on them for Gods sake, just do a picture search for yellow London demos and you'll see all different times.

That's ok Dave, I know I'm right, same goes for the Decca label demos too.

One example of Green Onions on a goodle search, that is definitely the time, 4'00, despite it only being 3'00.

yep all decca labels.. brunswick,vocalion, coral... all have the time stamps on

I wouldn't expect any other reply, traditions are important.
