Get both and then you will get a broader idea on prices. Think John Manship is bringing out a new edition of his price gude soon so you may want to wait until that comes out before buying.

Finally, a useful site to check-out is www.popsike.com it captures ebay results and allows you to access sale price history.

Useful, but remember that the site only shows the highest priced auctions. If a record regularly sells at $20 and some nutjob bids it up at $150 then only the highest value will be registered. The record could then go back to being sold for $20 once a week for the next few years.

Manship is releasing another guide soon, so will be interesting to see if it reflects the downturn in prices.

Andy there is a post elsewhere in which John states that he will not use any market influences and will only go by his own experiences in selling, the example used was Marv Johnson which I said should be 100 and he said he'd sold one that day for 150 so that price would stand - despite nobody else being able to get near that price for months.
