September 20, 200618 yr Whats the label on this - a scan ??? Cheers Girth sorry, can't do a scan it's a 7" on yellow label - label is RAP it's an odd record from the early 70s (not hip hop btw - the term rap was obviously more generic in the early 70s) - think it might have got some plays on northern scene in late 70s - probably mecca (or cleethorpes?) by the sound of it i was surprised to see it on a us dealer's list for $150 cos - although it's cute - i'm amazed there's any demand for it
September 20, 200618 yr I acquired a copy for £10 on the latest Black Music fair in Kilburn. Realistic value is a bit more through - £30 to £50 I would say.
September 20, 200618 yr That's one damn awful sugar-coated vocal delivery on that tune. The backing is nice though, so I guess you could take the instrumental flip and record a decent vocal over it...

September 20, 200618 yr Sold a copy for around £25 about a year ago. Wasn't too keen on it myself, and as usual saw it on a list for a ridiculous amount a few weeks later. Probably the same one mentioned above, Moerer's list I think. So still not sold May be hard but with good reason imho Bought it any a job lot off a Chicago collector. Keeping to the rap theme, another was Spoilers rap by The Spoilers on Lock, which was far better. Funky soul, which grew on me Mike
