Why is that unlikely?  I bought it when the record was released.

I guess none of the French and Belgian shaggers who also look in on this forum have it or a scanner, eh?

Sure I've got one somewhere, I'll try and find it tonight and scan tomorrow if it's not been already done.

I was being flippant again Robb; sorry an attempt at light humour.

Thanks Bill but Robb had already sent it. Nice to see an issue and it looks like a later pressing as it was a 1962 release which would have been Robb's design

Anyone know when the first red and black label came in?

Hmm, only different pressing plants Ady. The promo copies exists with both designs. The one from RobbK is vinyl and billb is styrene. It's a classic case where one pressing plant still had the old design pre-printed labels to run presses where the others have already switched to the new ones.

More clearly; if you look at the discography of Musicor, you'll notice that this Fab. Dino Musicor 1025 was most normally followed by Musicor 1026 that also used both pressing plants and so label variations was still still running but they didn't use the previous older logo labels afterwards. Most likely they ran out of them by then...

Just found this - may be of help?  https://www.bigboppa.co.uk/45-sleeves/USA/musicor/musi-us.htm

So the one pressing plant using the old design for 1024-1026, after the other plants had the new label design for 1024-1026 was correct.  The new style started at 1024, and the old style ended with 1026.

Interesting that the pressing plant, that pressed the DJ with the new label design, also added the recording master number to the label.

That's great info chaps. I had no idea red and black came in so early. And what a Musicor site!

It's a great site, scroll down the left hand side for UK, US, German, Australian and Norway labels https://www.bigboppa.co.uk/45-sleeves/index.html
