I'm off to Los Angeles in a few weeks and though it's to visit the Wife's Family I may get a couple of days escape to look for some vinyl. Could anyone help with some tips on the best record shops to visit, dealers who may welcome a visit or any other tips for my stay. I'd be looking for 60's soul, 50's R&B/Blues. I have done some online research but hoped that the Soul Source knowledge base would bring me more luck.

Check out to see if any record shows on .normally one flea market with records on a Sunday .rose bowl in Pasadena used to have records as well only monthly though .not much success in the record stores though . 

Thanks for the rose bowl tip, looks good and the wife might find some more "junk" for our home! 

Dufus you could try a PM to Mike Vague a member on here and LA record dealer. Not seen or heard from him for a few years tho so maybe he"s not busy these days ? Maybe a PM to Greg Belson would be a good idea.

Just got back from LA..pretty slim pickings. Trawled a few record shops in LA and down to Laguna but not much joy...then went off to Japan..WOW! Pricey but they have got some record shops! Appreciate all your help and tips..
