Hi

Apologies if this is in the wrong forum.

I have a dj mix from 1973 with this track on it, and am looking for the id. Can anyone help at all please?

Any help much appreciated

Thanks

Andy

A recording called 'Theme From The Cop And The Hooker' was copyrighted in first half of 1973.  The Index of Library of Congress records for copyright are searchable through Google and I found it there.  It does not say the artist.  I'll search more.

It sounds a little like the O'Jays but I'm pretty certain it isn't them.

It is obviously taking the Norman Whitfield sound for the Temptations into Blaxploitation film style similar to Above 110th Street.  Sounds like it would have been a new release play in 1973.  Where do you have it played at?

Thanks for the leads. It's from a Bobby Guttadaro mix, don't have the venue unfortunately

He was possibly still at Fire Island' Ice Palace in 1973.  He was one of the original N.Y. DJs.

Thanks ThinkSmart.

There's also this one from 1974 that I'm trying to id

Yea both great tunes!

It's Dave Crawford - The Law and the Lady - ABC 1973

There's a couple on discogs for around £6

You star thanks Matt :)

Thanks ThinkSmart, a few copies on Discogs too :)

After a lot of digging, the track from 1974 is Robert Knight - The Outsider
