Rob copied it onto acetate from my Jap CD .

  • It was before Keele.  Rob Marriott probably made it massive at the time.  Brian Rae first though.

  • Fantastic record, right from the off. Marriott at his peak was quite something

Hi Mate this is a conundrum we have All had and i own both the labels. However if you do some research on both the releases you mention you will find that they are both dubious and its not certain that either are legit. Therefore the only deffo way of playing a legit release is the Kent label one which is what i opt for so no arguements can ensue.

thanks mate. also have both, will add the kent and take all 3...…………..that will confuse the matter😀

Chris King paid for the licence in good faith but the owner of Goldwax, Quinton  Claunch didn’t own the rights to licence it to Chris as it was a Fame recording not Goldwax. I doubt whoever put the Torch one out got a licence from Fame either.  So only Kent totally legit.

Japanese CD original release , just to piss the OVO boys off ...

I’m not sure the cd is legit, as said not all were Goldwax recordings.

Was plenty legit enough for me to go mental to when it was played out first off a CD ... :sweatingbullets:

( B Rae at Keele before K Minshull started hammering it off a carver ... ? )

It was before Keele.  Rob Marriott probably made it massive at the time.  Brian Rae first though.

Minsh drove me mad with it  , miserable grumpy git never did let me have his carver despite repeated promises ... :(

Sounds kinda "Meh" when heard on YT these days but by crikey it was a different beasty altogether full blast at 3 am ....

Keele was my earliest 'recollection' but CD was '91

It still sounds awsome over a system.

91...I honestly thought it was earlier than that tbh, surprised me.

Fantastic record, right from the off. Marriott at his peak was quite something :hatsoff2:
