As a change to the continual depressing Brexit readers may be interested in this.

A donation of £10,000, the largest ever made, was handed to Professor Norman Maitlands Cancer Research Unit at York University by Charity Soul.

In the 5 years since the inception of Charity Soul, a SOUL music based charity run entirely by volunteers who receive no monetary remuneration,

has donated a cumulative total of £72,000 to Prostate Cancer Research at York CRU

This is the culmination of fundraising activities at Whitby, Bridlington weekenders, Festival of Soul in  Murcia Spain and a host of other events around the UK

during 2018

The charity has also donated £6,500 to Neuroblastoma Cancer research at Newcastle University

The charity aims to hit the £100K figure in 2019

I lost my Mum to cancer and sadly it was a long drawn out protracted affair  .. not nice . My partner also lost her former husband to the dreaded “ C “ after another long 7 year battle .
