2 great examples of lyrics that always caught my ear! I've been trying to remember a few more in a similar vein and will post as soon as the old brain kicks in...

Al King "High Cost Of Living" Ronn 42, 1970.

Not my favourite line but a it's a memorable one. Not a style I usually collect either but picked it up cheap and kept it for this lyric:

"Now things have got so rough, even my dog left home, he stands down at the welfare office, barking, trying to get a bone"
