DANCE COMPS,can anybody say when these first came about, I can remember in the early days of allnighters about half way through there were great confusion when the comps were getting going ,from choosing the dancers to about 2hrs later actually getting going.they didn't bother me to much as I was always tune buying or something like that .are there many venues apart from Blackpool etc etc that still do these or have they bitten the dust 🤔

here are, seeing it's the weekend, a recent one that stumbled across

 

they were definately going in the 70,s, i can remember them from nottingham palais alldayers.

 

CWG had one every year.

Saw another at butlitz...

Don't think they always pick the best records to dance to. So moves are un natural to the record, just to show ability and tricks.

I think if you got it, flaunt it...not many better than me over 30 seconds:) but my 12inch version days are well behind me.
