Whilst appreciating as a Welshman, I'm pretty much  in a minority on here, however whilst celebrating our 1st World Cup Qualification since 1958, it was something besides the victory that roused my passion! As a limited Welsh speaker (it wasn't taught in schools I attended in Newport, South Wales during my education years),I'm now being taught the language belatedly by my eldest  grandchildren, who are 7 & 10!   Irrespective of this, I happened to come across a post match rendition of a Welsh folk song I ashamedly had never heard prior on youtube "Yma o Hyd" sung by the team and crowd which made the hair on the back of my neck stand up, and actually brought a tear to my eye with pride! I must say I have never heard anything as passionate at a football match that I've either attended or watched otherwise........Nos Da.

  • There's a few takes of "Yma O Hyd" on youtube both live and edited, though the one below is imo amongst the best  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yma_o_Hyd
