Stevie Wonders 'Uptight' is a classic but Richie Browns version on Hit is rather good if not better. Incidentally, the Bside has yet another version of 'California Dreaming' by the Jalopy Five..sounds ok though.

Sorry, can't do sound clips, unfortunately.... sleep3.gif stix

I always preferred Jose Feliciano's version more than the Doors anyway! (Something I could only safely admit to on here!) :D

Yes Yes Yesssree! One of my favourite records, period. Al sings it like a man who has just won the lottery and who gets hot wild crazy sex from Beyonce, five times a day, into the bargain...

Most of the other allegedly'better versions' that have been posted up here so far are complete pants though, and not fit to line a birdcage in comparison with the originals...

How about...

"Superstition" - Mighty Clouds Of Joy

"Love Train" - Bunny Sigler

"I'm Not In Love" - Dee Dee Sharp

"O-O-Child" - Dee Dee Sharp

"Power Of Love" - Martha Reeves

"Be Thankful With What You Got" - Intruders

Ref the Dusty Springfield covers.
