Looks likes someone blagged the interview for putting this “Northern Soul” comp together🤷🏻👀

This is the best Decca can come up with from their vaults? Oh dear…

poor by the sound of it. It must be appealing to the much lauded youth market! What it needs is a young blonde girl to promote it!

Sonny Childe is great, obviously not a stormer, whereas Tony Newman i heard played early doors at the Casino....but it was probably played before then anyway.

What a waste!

Imagine all the great unissued tracks in the Decca archives! Just like the RCA stuff on the Kent cd's

Wow!, that long, i probably didnt realize at the time i bought it, it was that old....itssort of ironic in away...it probably came out amidst the mad rush of cds....companies jumping on a potential sales pitch goldmine with popularity of Northern amongst a wider audience, particularly all the rare tracks impossible to find, or buy on vinyl...available for anybody.

73/74 was a hugh vinyl adrenalin rush, where new tunes were coming at you, every week, it was hard to keep pace, that happened for a good few years, as it did with the cd market.....now both are far more sedate.
