London And Manchester In August

so a friend and i are making our way across the pond the first 2 weeks of August, and we are looking for soul nights to attend. will obviously be at Lowton first Friday, but any clues to other events around that time worth attending would be appreciated.

probably spend the first 4 days or so up Manchester way, then off to London to see the sights.

this will be our first visit to the UK, so lets hear suggestions ... also tips on cheap hotels, etc. would be great!

Not too sure of your dates, but these would be my suggestions.

Greatstone (Manchester) on 4 August. I've never personally been, but if my mate (up north) Brett recommends it then that's good enough for me. :thumbsup:

6T's Allnighter at Jacks (London) on 18 August. Ady C and the crew doing their thing nothing else to add really. :rolleyes:

just realized Lowton is the SECOND friday of every month, so thats when we will be up that way. rest of the time down in London.

Not too sure of your dates, but these would be my suggestions.

There's a dayer at the Pemberton centre Rushden, which is about 60 miles north of London. I'm really looking forward to this one! The Pembo is a great venue! :thumbsup:

The DJ line up has an international feel so you should be right at home!

There's a dayer at the Pemberton centre Rushden, which is about 60 miles north of London. I'm really looking forward to this one! The Pembo is a great venue! :rolleyes:

There's Bury Town Hall on the friday after Lowton if you're still up in Manchester.

A popular regular soul night on the third friday of every month.

Residents include Neil Jones, Mick Howard & myself with a high standard of top guest DJs.

Bury is only a short tram ride away from Manchester and the venue is directly outside the station.

Doh! :thumbsup: That was the one I meant to refer to. Just saw Greatstone in the events calender didn't read into too much, now realise that it's a different promotion on the 4th.

So Kevin if in Manchester on the 18th it's Greatstone, but if in London on the same day it's the 6T's allnighter at Jack's. :rolleyes:

Kevin, I would contact Mr Cato (Little Stevie) on here. He's the best person to show you the sights, nights and record shops around Manchester. He also runs a night every other Sunday at the Bay Horse in the Northern Quarter which I'm sure you'd enjoy thumbsup.gif

HI KEV I'M ALWAYS AROUND TOO...IF YOU NEED GUIDING AROUND MANCHESTER. PLENTY OF VINYL, LOCAL NIGHTS ETC

On the way from Manchester to London, make sure you drop into the SoulShkers International in Solihull, its about half way.
