December 17, 201410 yr   As a young 17 year old I nicked this off the wall in 77  I went in the Funk room as a inquisitive teenager would, there were four guys in boiler suits with elastic joining there legs together and blowing whistles. That was ok but what worried me is the fact that they were dancing around a dead blackbird.  Back to the northern room and never ventured on the dark side again  Â
December 17, 201410 yr ventured here a couple of times and seem to remember being kicked out in the early hours when the place got shut down, kipped down in a freezing Bus station waiting for the first bust South as i recall ! Great to see it back ! Rob

December 23, 201410 yr a quick pass on of info from Unity Works that has been added to the article by the site and is below  mike  Unity Works Article ------------------------------------------- Hi Soul Source, I wanted to thank you for the great Article on Unity Works: the support is much appreciated. I would like to point out however that Unity Works is not owned by the council as the article states. Unity is actually a co-operative and it's reopening was only made possible by investment by nearly 400 local Wakefield people. Overall they raised over £4million - something we are understandably proud of! ...what was a four year project just to get the doors open! The share issue will always be open (details here: https://www.unityworks.co.uk/shares/ ) Take care, Thanks, Dean
December 23, 201410 yr Went there the first time after our mini van was busted at Grantham Town hall when we were about to set off for Wigan. Got taken to the police station, strip searched (illegally as I was only 15), got let out eventually and decided we could make Wakefield Unity in the little time left. Good night!
