  1. First off we would like to thank all those that attended the last 6 Brits for their support and comments. We have listened and acted on your feedback. As you all know the legendary Brit club is due for demolition early 2020. The final events we have held there have been unbelievable and we have been asked by many to carry on with the same format of music and djs. So we have spent some time searching for a venue that we thought would be suitable to move to. This actually turned out to be harder than expected until Mick H approached us about moving to the venue next door (The Boat). Problem Solved. Mick H will join us and dj at all the nights he's available plus a top guest dj at each event. We will run on the third Friday as we did at the Brit and Soul In The Park. Same crew Nick, Lisa, Maxine, Alex, Myself + Mick H Pure Vinyl Events in collaboration with Mick H are proud to announce TED MASSEY as our first guest dj, he will be joined by Mick H, and resident djs Alex Gallagher and myself Mick Boyle. Music policy will be as at the Brit. Northern 60s, 70s, Current plays, Under played, Rare, Top 500, R&B and Motown - As always it will be difficult to guess the next record. Mick H will run his three all-nighters here as booked. These will not clash with our soul night. More info to come. Looking forward to continuing the sound of the Brit, just next door - Mick .

    50 YEARS OF THE BRIT

No Brit newbies on tonight. Steve Phyllis was warm up man before me and has dj'd there more times than we can remember. Steve Frost became a very regular guest for John and Andy and was practically a regular. He certainly help take it to the next level music wise.
  13. Went last year and got the Impressions Can't Satisfy HMV £20 - Parliaments Don't Be Soar At Me £15 - and my mate got Flaming Emeralds Fee £40 For some reason I left the Mr Floods Party Ember for £50. Bet its not there next time. Defiantly some bargains to be had.

    50 YEARS OF THE BRIT

Good to have you back Steve The Brit - This iconic house of soul will close its doors forever and be pulled down in January 2020 for the expansion of the NFFC. We have secured 6 nights July - December (Dates listed above) to celebrate Nottingham's most loved soul venue. Even the Palais or Dungeon couldn't compare to this place and it still looks like it did back in the day. We have secured many Brit DJs to assist in these final nights, Richard Broughton has agreed to come out of retirement for one last time. John Poole - Rob Thomas - Glyn Sisson - Steve Frost - Rob Smith - Mick H - Nev Shooter - Steve Phillis - Also SITP regulars Alex Gallagher and myself will be behind the decks. Also we're giving a few sets to Brit newbies for those who have a serious record collection but not had the chance to put the legendary Brit club on their CV. Only original vinyl will be used by all our DJs. Soul In The Park has been running for nearly 2 years and is well known for not playing same old same old. We play quality Northern, 60s, 70s, R&B, Motown. ballads, rare and yes some top 500. Now we are at the Brit, we will continue to do this and I know that our booked DJs will also play with passion. Hope to see you there - Mick

  20. The first of the final six was awesome. Karen & Jason Roberts + Kev Such did us proud. So many top tunes all night. Now for the second of six. This time we have secured both Rob Smith and Simon Hunt so another great night assured
  21. Steve (Speedlimit) was on the decks at the Brit first time I ever attended. Andy Lee asked me to be the warmup dj about 26 years ago and i had to quickly up my game record wise. Nev Shooter joined about the same time, Glyn Sisson, Andy Lee and John Poole were the regulars + guests every month. Dont get any better.
  22. Flag reply Speedlimit Posted 1 hour ago Looking forward to spinning some tunes at the iconic club where I first started out back in the summer of 1978 as warm up man for John Poole and Andy Lee. They gave me my first break as a dj. I stayed as a resident until the nights finished in late 1982. Two years later I returned with Derek Allen. Rob Smith. Rich Broughton. Myself and Andy Shaw. And have guested for several other promoters over the last 40years since I first ventured down. So I'm looking forward to spinning in the Batcave one last time. Let's make this a night to remember. Hi Steve I have moved your comments to this latest thread for the Brit (Mick) Hope to see you before Oct 18th when your on.
