January 21, 200520 yr Marvin Holmes & Justice - styrene and vinyl.... According to Ovenchip's it wasn't booted.... just an issue on each.... I too thought the styrene was a boot.... same reason as above.... the sound appears "low".... So who's to say Ovenchip's knows best on this one .... Remains one of them "is it or isn't it" questions I suspect unless anybody else can shed some light on it.... link I bought this back in 75 as a new release.Mines on styrene..........why boot a new release ?
January 21, 200520 yr How about three instrumentals that used to fill the floor in early 76 (inspired by MrWiggles listing First Shot-Phase II) 1.The Gig-Raw Soul....(How the f*** did we used to dance to that????) 2.Falballa-The Magic Band 3.Overture-The Miracle Workers Not to mention 'Mike Post-New York Vibrations' (Martin Stevens-Mal) Can't honestly say any of these can be considered rare or soulfull ......but definatly not pop or R&B
January 21, 200520 yr Forgive me for being stoopid, but is that the same version as Heartstoppers on All-Platinum, or is it a different version??? Cheers, Jamie link

January 23, 200520 yr Jamie, the Judy Freeman and BlackRock has been a big revival darn sarf for a few years now, Ady C and then Greg playing the unreleased six or seven minute version via acetate. It's an incredible record, surely one of the most soulful records ever played on the Northern scene. link wasn't Ady playing also the Kumano 45 a while back - sure I've heard it at 100 club/Xfire doos??? add The Entertains Love will turn it around Steeltown Ty Hunter I don't see me in your eyes anymore Invictus Eddie Kendricks Can't help what I am Tamla to the list
January 23, 200520 yr Just 3 from me 100% Pure Poison - You Keep Coming Back I'll Always Be Here - The Impressions One Night affair - Jerry Butler
January 23, 200520 yr John, was playing the Laura Lee only yesterday. Excellent. I'd forgotten how good the other side was too: "If I'm Good Enough To Love (I'm Good Enough To Marry)." Records that might have sounded commonplace years ago are sometimes actually pretty amazing to revisit. To me there was a depth of quality in seventies soul music that we may have taken for granted in the past. The skills utilised in the vocals, production and playing on these tracks was sometimes breathtaking. link Yes great stuff Gareth did you know that it was released on Invictus and Hot Wax and If I'm Good Enough To Love came out as a 45 in it's own right on Invictus with a different flip again. Have always loved Remember me though very Love Factory i've always thought
January 23, 200520 yr Margie Joseph - 'Move no mountains' is excellent! still pretty unknown? Shane link Give over Shane You want to check out the version by the Sophisticates it's superb better than MJ IMVFHO although i do love MJ version
January 23, 200520 yr Dave Love is superb, the same backing as the Scientests of Soul (i think?), must say though that my fav 70's sound has to be Vivian Copeland and Chaos...getting major turn table play in my living room. link Don't think so Brett although they are similar after a fashion I take it you are talking about Be's that way sometimes on Kashe ?
January 30, 200520 yr Betty Baker :Marching Out Of Your Life" Forgive me for being stoopid, but is that the same version as Heartstoppers on All-Platinum, or is it a different version??? Cheers, Jamie link
