I'm In A Panic

Well not really a panic. More frustrated to the extent i'm going to throw this computer out the window.

Anyone any good with Excel charts? I'm trying to get a chart where the axis dont actually cross. i've tried putting a text box across where they do, messing about with the scales ie, Y-axis goes to -1, X-axis, cross at -2.5 but that doesnt work. Any clues??

OK this may be the problem.

My text box, seems to be behind the table. Any idea on how I can get it in front?

Select the textbox (so you have all corners of it)

Right click on the mouse to bring up the textbox menu

Go to ORDER.. and then ...

Select "bring to front"

Should do the trick

Cheers kolla. tried that and it didnt work. It wouldnt let me fill the text box, so you could still see the axis behind.

I have found a way.

I deleted the text box.

Clicked on chart.

Inserted a picture: Autoshape.

Chose rectangle

Filled it white from the icons that appear at the bottom.

2 days it took but my charts look oh so pretty now.

Honestly. It makes the charts look so much better, if the data varies from above and below zero.

The X axis can be pulled below any trendlines, so the scale remains easily read.

It drove me mad

but now I am so, so happy
