what do you think?

small 45, matrix not stamped, but etched in & it's on what appears to be vinyl with a molded on label too.

came in a company sleeve, which threw me. there's been a lot of debate about Okeh reissues & boots recently.

That actually looks real to me, bit different if you could hold it but I think the last one I had was vinyl

That's the big 45 logo. Looks alright to me, apart from the fact that I've never seen it on vinyl prior to this. Wouldn't mind a vinyl copy instead of my styrene one actually. Pounding tune that one! thumbsup.gif

thanks for your replies chaps.

just compared it to some styrene major lance 45's I have.

am I right in thinking that a molded on label can only be vinyl?

& what about the lack of a stamped matrix?

Yes moulded is only on vinyl, but I wouldn't worry about the lack of stamped matrix, I've had them before, notably Tommy Tate - Taking on pain, that had a scratched matrix

Yes, that's right.

Those with "painted labels" (Amy/Mala/Bell type 45s) are styrene though.

I don't know for sure when it comes to this particular 45. But I've had other Okeh 45s like Major Lance "Without A Doubt" pressed on vinyl and with a scratched in matrix number instead of stamped. But really, we should get Manship on this thread, he might know.

I'm almost sure that there is at least one legitimate release with the small '45' logo on Okeh can't for the life of me think what it is at the moment. This clearly has the large '45' though and looks legit mine is vinyl too from memory.

It's the original issue copies of:

Major Lance - Too Hot To Hold / Dark And Lonely - OKEH 7226

which has got the small 45 RPM logo.

White demos has got the big logo though.
