I've heard this on Soulclub.org (what a priceless tool is that site), and I have to admit I like it less than Jesse James (one of my all-time favourites), but IMO their version is a lot better than the Cliff Nobles one on Phi-LA of Soul.

I've jumped on our good Dave Rimmer site to check if this is existing on a issued single, but can't find a Volcanos discography and nothing on Arctic listing (I know they've got many recordings on the label)...

Can anyone tell me if the tune is available on a 7", which label, and just in case the current price, please...?

I dont think it is available, but there is diff versions of the said record by the volcano,s , pete smith is the man you want.

I think the Volcanos version on soulclub is the same as Jesse James. Because if I remember correctly, it was covered by Butch as the Volcanos. I do only know, that Butch has an original acetate of it. Don't know if anybody else has an original, or how it came to the soul city release.

yep you got it only on virtue studio acetates owned by butch , mick. h and kenny burrell

And let's not forget the Harthon Band's superb intrumental of the more screaming Volcanos c/u (i.e. the other and better Jesse James) version (which btw is the best tune I've ever heard and has been my number one fav for as long as I can remember ). The Cliff Noble cut is obviously a totally different record, but it's for sure one of the best cheap floor fillers there are.

Cliff Nobles "Love is alright" is the same record as the Jesse James (Volcanos) only finished as Jesse James wanted it done.

I of course meant that it sounds different compared to the other versions... The lyrics etc are the same.

Well, I know Butch covered his J.James acetate under The Volcanos (I had the record in my hands at 100 Club when Mark let me have a look to it, and it still had the paper cover with "The Volcanos" wrote in pen), but if you go on Soulclub.org and listen The Volcanos and Jesse James, they're two different versions of the same song.

Any info on the other version...?

Just listened to the Volcanos and Jesse James on soulclub and they are two different versions,i prefer the Volcanos version personally,just played my Cliff Nobles version still sounds so good,had it years,what would it be worth now if it wasnt so common-fantastic version.

Let me see if I can remember and get this right......

The Volcanos version on Soulclub isn't the take covered as the Volcanos...the Jesse James on Soulclub is the one if I remember rightly that was covered as The Volcanos by Butch. The one thats on there as the Volcanos is the version Kenny has....I think
