October 10, 200717 yr yeh hand luggage in case they 1/ go walkies 2/ some idiot drops your case 3/ it get crushed under all the others.. when we went rimini because of all the security I emailed the airline Easy Jet and got them to email me back, which they did saying I could carry my records as hand luggage as long as they wasn't bigger than the size allowed. don't think you would get a way with a box of 50 12"s but I had a box of 70 45's in a record box in side another bag that was sutible for hand luggage.
October 10, 200717 yr Hand luggage as long as they will fit . If you have to send them in the hold ensure you have a top quality full flight case. A "Caution Bio Hazard" lable for the outside is worthwhile as well
October 10, 200717 yr Hand luggage. I've got a small box from Covers33 that contains about 100 singles, and it fits in my Adidas holdall (for extra protection)... Total weight under 10 Kilos, and size's ok for Ryan Air standards. There's no way I send my records in the hold...
October 10, 200717 yr Both John Weston and I use these boxes from Hard To Find Records in Birmingham. They are the perfect size to fit as Hand Luggage. Here's the link HTFR Record Boxes

October 10, 200717 yr The box makes no difference if your pished and leave them on a train though.?? gasher
October 10, 200717 yr Hand luggage no doubt, for those of a Modern persuassion record bags are a good option, similair to laptop bags, can hold generally around 40-50 12's. Cd's in the luggage or if you're lucky they can be carried through as hand luggage. It all depends on the airline and their level of fussiness, I flew to Frankfurt with lufthansa and didn't have any problems apart from coming back to the UK where they checked my record bag for illicit substances
October 10, 200717 yr What is the favoured method of carrying your records when flying in hand luggage or in baggage ? I'd go back home unless I could carry them on. 100 box of 45s with paper covers does the trick
October 10, 200717 yr Thanks for that guys ! Mr Rimmer I am confused did you say you could get 100 singles and a pished John Weston in one of those boxes and get it through hand luggage ?

No, I said I can get 120 singles through as hand luggage in one of those boxes. John Weston getting through customs pished is John Weston's problem.
