Can I draw on the wealth of knowledge on this site and ask a question about a Charles Mintz 45 called "Give the man a break" b/w "Finders Keepers", now I believe this recordcame out twice, once on the Abbott label number 2011 and also on Uplook number 12270, does anyone know which was the first release and also any idea of value. I personally have never seen the Abbott label before it says it was distributed by Golden Records, New York which I'm certain I've seen on a record before but which one I can't remember.

Any help would be appreciated.

TIA

Regards

Alan

Uplook is the earlier release & Mr Manship has a copy on his website for £75. Abbott is worth £50ish I believe.

There's another good one on Abbott by the Village Soul Choir - The Cat Walk - Abbott 2010

I found a scan of the Abbott release here

It looks like it has the distributed by Golden Recs as well.

As Funky Si stated, Uplook is the first release, Abbott second.

I've got on for sale at mo on ebays stone mint open bid £50, here's the link https://search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQsassZdave_t_top_dog

Malayka and I speak to Charles fairly regularly. He is working on a couple of new tracks at the moment that should be out in europe next year, through a deal with a label in Germany. We hope to bring him over to europe next year also for a few live perfomances.

Does anyone know the story around the Abbott release ??????????

Regards

Alan

Fairly simple story. The Up Look release made some small waves when it's came out. Was then leased to Abbott which saw some potential in the track, as they had a national distribution deal. Sadly it never hit
