T D Valentine was a pseudonym used by Tommy Mattola during his singing career , before he became head honcho at / of Epic Records in The States after their aquisition by The Sony Group .......

From what I can recall , TM attempted to sue August Darnell for blatantly and clearly , mentioning his name in " CLF " , and tried to get the bosses at RCA to withdraw the release of the album : he failed on both counts .......

Spot on Mr Pinch, they then recorded as The Insiders before becoming The Main Ingrediant in 1969
