February 6, 200916 yr Hi Dave I know of three releases 2 OFFICIAL AND ONE TEST PRESS ONE ALSO HAD A PIC SLEEVE..THINK IT WAS THE DON HYSON IF MEMORY IS CORRECT FIRST TWO BOTH ON BARD OUT OF DETROIT eddy huges (blue and white) BARD and don hysong (red and white) BARD I had a one off test press on FIRELITE WHICH WAS DETROIT LABEL . IT WAS POSSIBLY A PRESSING PLANT demo of one artist on the FIRELIGHT SIDE AND BLANK FLIP WITH DON HYSONG ON FLIP AND IT WAS NASHVILLE MATRIX STAMPED THATS ALL I KNOW OF MATE HOPE THAT HELPS BEST RICHIE THE GASHER Hi All How many version of the beat ballad 'Soul Searcher' are there and on which labels. December 16, 20195 yr Clearly Hysong's version was a demo for Eddie Hughes' commercial release. I'm sure Hysong's being pressed up on Bard was just an extremely small "vanity" pressing. I really doubt that more than 100 were pressed. Back in the day, I remember seeing a reasonable number of The Eddy Hughes record both in Detroit and Chicago, but never saw the Don Hysong. I really doubt that Bard thought they could get Hysong's played on Pop stations, and could sell it to Pop fans.
