I was going through some 45s downstairs when I found a couple mint Jackie Lee 45s, which got me wondering...

Are Jackie's tapes in some legal limbo? I would've thought there would've been a legitimate compilation by now. Just curious.

UK reissue company Acerecords own the tapes and there will be a CD of his solo works on the Kent label soon.

Don't know if Ady can answer this, but if (as I think) Darkest Days was leased to ABC would the rights have reverted to the producer and so be available for inclusion? There again, as it wasn't actually on Mirwood, I suppose that's academic...I'll get me coat...

That's one we're investigating, but Fred Smith productions and Mirwood weren't neccessarily the same thing, Keymen was not part of Mirwood, as far as we can tell and those Fidels etc that came out should not have happened.

As for Goldmine, I think they licensed the material from Simon Soussain; which, given the info on the other thread, would make you wonder why trust such a rogue!

I think this is the unreleased master really titled Anything You Want or sometimes titled Any Way You Want. It was written by Sherlie Matthews and until we put it out correctly on the first Volume of the Mirwood Story, she didn't get her songwriter royalties.
