  1. good to see him back but have to say was expecting just a bit more from the man..........
  2. This will fill dance floors but one of those songs most will quickly tire of, like after 2mins lol, wish i had a fiver for every time he sings "share my love!" sorry not for me,just doesn't seem to go anywhere :o(
  3. I have a copy of this, labels on my copy correct. Price? well i would not sell mine for that price. Would think that price is based on the last time Manship had one up for sale, never seen it come up for sale/listed since i bought mine off Gary S (Blacknight Records) back in the 90's, Very rare on a 7" Think last time i had someone try to get me to sell it was a member on here, Boba i think it was, Both sides are excelent by the way, very big for me at Canal Tavern Thorne when Rod Dearlove ran the place, Superb Nites,Rick
  4. Got my copy (LP) off John Anderson (Lyyn discory/Soul Bowl) My first recolections playing it Out "soul scene" Scunthorpe and of course Cleethorpes Pier/Winter Gardens, Still play it to this day, wonderful record and a Cleethorpes Classic!
  5. Hi Dawn, Very nice photographs, haven't got any of the drill hall doooo's but enjoyed them all the same, Just love lookin' back at all those great times, weren't we SO lucky being a part of this great scene, Love and respect, Rick
  6. Paul, PM me if you would like Mary and Colins phone number, you can have a chat (i'm sure they will be pleased to hear from you) and you can arrange a meet up, regards, Rick
  7. Used to play a track from this album at The Cleethorpes Winter Gardens (1977) called "Love Party" Was very popular at the time
  8. Got talking to some Scooter lads recently and this venue ( run by Chris Dalton) came into the conversation, anyone on here go, have any memories of the place you would like to share on this forgotten all niter?
  9. Pauls a lovely lad , haven't spoke to him since last year, must give him a buzz, bought/exchanged many a record from him well in the past, great taste in music too.... Rick
  10. Good Morning Malc, They both hide it well don't they ! Mary will be up Hemswell Market this morning (as usual) , My mate Colin (from Scunny) will be up there to see her (as i type), he always takes a few bits up for her and has a natter and a bit of banter (as you do) and he always rings me on the Sunday evening to fill me in on his finds and how she is, on one occasion she said to him, i need to leave and went home early, so clearly all is not well. Colin makes me smile flying about in his electric buggy, i wonder how long it will be befor people start turning up at N S Venues on them, we will have to have special parking areas and plug in points to charge up lol. Shame we can't get Mary on here, the stories she could tell and the questions she would get asked eh.... Rick
  11. Too right, None of us getting any younger, old habits die hard as she can't resist a bargain, she still keeps her finger in lol, we don't appreciate in a lot of cases what people have done on this wonderful scene of ours until they are no longer with us, didn't want this to happen in Marys case as i personaly have a lot to thank her for.
  12. Hi Chalky, She doesn't get out as much as she used to, but i was told she was spoted at a Boomarang do at Thornes Canal Tavern Recently. She also sells records on the car boot site at Hemswell Market (indoors) but am told she may be giving it up soon due to ill health.
  13. Just thought it would be nice to give a Nod to a Wonderful Lady who is not in good health these days (as is not Colin her husband ) Her Babys back then as many members on here would remember were The Cleethorpes Pier and The Winter Gardens. She gave many a DJ their Big Break back then when you look at the Original Line Up from those humble beginings, plucking DJ's from venues up and down the country who were making a name for themselves and recomended to her as fan favourites. These venues made people sit up and take notice even Dave Godin making regular trips there and becoming a firm friend with Mary whom he admired and had the greatest respect for and this was all down to Mary, she never made a penny bless her, she paid the best wages to her DJ's as she knew they would put the money to good use to make sure the best records money could buy would get played (whether it was rare or not mattered a jot, ) old or new, we and she just wanted Quality and she new her DJ's would not let her down, but what i want to know is what YOU remember from that era, your involvment with Mary and Colin at these wonderful venues with the loyalist members you could ask for ( even her dodgey DJ sessions behind the decks on the odd occasion lol ) she would freely tell you her self she was no expert on the mic, but her heart and soul was willing, I just want to along with you give a bit of credit where it's due to her , happy, sad or funny times you may have had and would like to share with the rest of us.
  14. Hope this is in correct topic section ( i'm sure it will be removed if it is'nt ) Has anyone bought this Nicola Conte CD ? ( has extra bonus cd ) need to know if the bonus cd has anything decent on it to be worth paying the extra for. Many thanks for looking, Rick
