  1. ..........and I might have a little suprise personnel wise, come the day also
  2. Add The Who Who Song to that one ...oh and Edwins 'Time' isn't a slouch either
  3. Thats exactly it mate.If I may with Russ's permission widen this a tad. An example being the spate(collective name for?? ) of instrumentals that broke mid/late Torch early Casino--that possibly wouldn't see the light of day now. Sounds of Lane eg sounds/feels different at 5 in the morning at hose st in 72 than anywhere you can mention in 2009. Yes possibly cos its been hammered--but more I think its the different outlook that we all have on what constitutes a northern soul sound in 2009. We have been exposed to so much more since then that the divisions/boundaries(for want of a better word) have become blurred. Not a bad thing I hasten to add --its the same with anything --we take more on board as we get older. ....oh and this may have caused a rush to the dancefloor back then

  13. Interesting you should mention that Sue I used to know Mick and a few of the other 'castle lads from back then when they used to come in Lion and Bell to us lot before we went soulin Anyway on saturday night I went to a football do with lads that I play football with and we had a small??? piss up . Anyway one of the lads I play footie with is Mick's son. After our sesh Andy (micks lad) says you might as well kip at mine --to save buggering about with a taxi home queing etc. I says ok. Got his house and Mick was still up watching telly. Had a quick natter to him--tried,but couldn't persuade him come the Torch reunion He aint been into the scene for ages Graham Pratt--didn't he go out with Ann Mckenzie from Congleton back in the early 70's??--also didn't he have a brother as well who was on the scene?
  14. Blimey Steve this thread is thowing up some names from the past--hope they all going to the Reunion
