  1. Yes Matt, Joe Hicks was played a lot in the early 80's, I used to go to the Locarno then as well and I'm sure it was a play at that time. I never know whether mine's a boot or an orig though. Jordi

Don't you just wish there was an old clip of "Bettere use your head"
  3. Gorgeous tune, I've never heard of it. Jordi
  4. I can't find this on ebay. I wonder if someone has made him an offer.
  5. Or any musicians who didn't play a Rolf Harris Stylofone (or whatever it was called.) Cheap jokes apart, proper bass, drums, percussion, guitar, brass and flute produced in a contemporary style would have helped do the track a bit of justice. I don't want to harp on this any more but it's just one of my favourite 70's tunes and I really think given the right treatment could finally make a bit of cash for the Sisters Love. Jordi

I think it's a great record. I can't stop playing it at home. Fast, shuffling groove with excellent instrumentation and a very good vocal. It's got jazz, funk and soul vibes running all the way through it. I think Gareth played it at Prestatyn and it sounded awesome loud. Frank Popp it aint!! Jordi
  7. Kirsty, are you sure you don't mean stimulation. It's about £300 now, but you should get it cheaper. (I don't mean i'll stimulate you for £300, I mean the record is by Stimulation) Jordi
  8. Cheers Godz, Who would have done this taylor made. I've had it donkey's years. Is it a Soussain thing? Jordi
  9. Pete, Was the Soul World the black label? I've got "Rhino" on a black label by the Charades although it's not titled "Rhino". Can't remember without digging it out. Jordi

I got one of those some months back Val. I think it's a very nice tune if a little messy. Great vocals and production. One I'm really into at the moment is Powerhouse - Come in to my world on Daystar. Jordi
  11. Shaken but not stirred. Trouble is I never seem to get my wants when I post up yet every other bugger seems to get theirs.
  12. Man after my own heart. Unbeatable version! Jordi
  13. Come on you lot, it's not a hotbox tune so you might as well get rid. Cash or trades waiting. Ta very much. Jordi

Great tune even though it needs fading out before the end. No help I know. Jordi
  15. Bollox, I've been after one of these for about 3 years. Soooooo if there's another copy out there for sale, let me know and bugger this Hotbox nonsense, I want it for me to love and cherish. Jordi
  16. I'd love to Simon. Unfortunately I ain't got the funds or the time or a studio. I know some good musicians who could do it justice though. Surely I'm entitled to an opinion despite the fact I'm not personally in a position to do it. I know it takes effort, money and a love and passion to do anything of worth, and i respect Ian Levine for choosing proper good vocal artistes. I just think he always misses the mark musically and it ends up being a waste of enormous talent on behalf of the vocalists. Now where's my Delroy Wilson - Worth your weight in gold lp gone, some cracking cover versions on that. Jordi
  17. Hi Simon, I didn't realise until I've since looked that it was on Ian's my space. To be honest I've always stayed as far away as possible from Ian's recordings since the days of the Exciters and LJ Johnson. He's always been involved with the shit and tacky end of contemporary studio production techniques both audio and video as far as I'm concerned. You say the vocal is fantastic, well so it would be, it's the Sisters Love for gawd's sake. It would take more than an Ian Levine synth by numbers backing track to hide that. Ian has always used cracking vocal artistes without any doubt, but he should have used a heavy duty bunch of seasoned musicians to do the vocalists justice. All in my opinion of course. If Incognito had got the job of playing on that track I don't think I'd be saying any of this. As for hearing the track in a club, well I like clubs that would play the original. Modern studio production techniques don't necessarily make a good piece of music, it depends on the producer, arranger and engineer. I never liked that Frances Nero Motor City thing come to think of it either, it all sounds like Stock Aitkin and Waterman to me. Totally soulless (apart from the vocals of course.) Jordi
  18. My copy's the same Phil. I think Steve Plumb would be the man to tell you the story behind this 45 as he was the person selling them originally I think. Jordi
  19. How ya doin' Ivor, it was good to meet you at Prest. Yeah I think you must be right about the Ian Levine connection, I don't think anyone else would have used such tasteless parping synths. What a waste of an opportunity to re record that track in a sympathetic modern style. Can't wait for the 45!! Best...jordi
  20. I was really looking forward to this, thinking it was going to be some rare old footage of one of the best cover versions ever, by one of my favourite groups. To say I was disappointed is a massive understatement. It looked like modern concert footage which is fine, it was too much to hope for to see something from the orig 70's version, but what was the cheesy music that was dubbed on top of the concert footage? There was no way the musicians in that clip were playing that plastic squeaky synth music. Where was the music from the musicians on the stage? She still is a mother of a singer though. Jordi

I remember the first time I ever DJ'ed at Albrighton, doing an early doors set, I was getting a couple of heckles to "put some soul on" (I had to laugh!) so I dropped Maurice Long on and I never got bothered again all night, just got compliments at the end. One of many brilliant cheapies still to get regular plays. Jordi
  22. Shouldn't you be asleep!! Best...jordi
  23. Nice tune Simon. Jordi
