  1. Sorry, yes it was the Professionals track that was released only they credited it as Steve Mancha. I'm confused!
  2. No it was Professionals version but they credited it as being Steve Mancha.
  3. Can you put it up on here for us to have a listen please? And I totally agree, IWB is fab!

But surely it's not an auction record? I would really love to know who actually decides to put records like this into auction. Is it because John didn't offer the seller enough for it initially and so they asked him to stick it in the auction on the off chance they might get more for it? Not that there is anything wrong with that. I'm just curious.
  5. Absolutely, all the time! Only difference being I dive straight in and say it's pants right from the off
  6. Didn't know about there was an instrumental. Don't suppose you'd care to throw it up on here would you Dave?
  7. It is absolutely nothing like the others which is why I wasn't comparing them. Like I said, they are classic tunes, stunning in fact. It's just that I prefer IWB. No biggie
  8. 'I Wouldn't Believe' is my fave side by a mile. Wasn't too bothered about the others, only this side, so that one sided demo would have been perfect for me Have got it now though. Classic tunes, one and all!
  9. You are bang on as always Gareth, they did mis-credit the Professionals version as Steve Mancha.

Since when has this been an auction record?
  11. you had to be there!
  12. WOW. Can't believe it. He was in fantastic form when we saw him in Seattle a year and a half ago. But I guess a year is a long time. He had everyone open mouthed in awe. And when he sang 'Lonely No More' it just about killed me. A truly lovely man and an awesome talent. I felt so privileged to be in his company that weekend.
  13. Other side of the Professionals - That's Why I Love You - Groove City

Yes it's been cancelled. But you didn't hear it from me ok
  16. I bought this record off Shute from Stoke about 15 years ago, give or take, for £70 or £80. Been playing it ever since. Nice to see it's getting some recognition at last. Great tune
  17. It's something I would never forget Kitch. It was my favourite back then and still is to this day. Amazing tune.
  18. I have just done my BA(Hons) Antiques & Design and Eric Knowles was the fellow of my course. There was a thread on here a couple of years ago about him having a fantastic northern soul knowledge and record collection that funnily enough coincided with him coming to the University to give our class a talk on Tiffany glass. Anyway, after the talk I asked him about his northern soul past and believe me people he knows absolutely nothing about northern soul. And he definitely does not have a top record collection. He said his only connection to northern soul music was from his youth club days. But he did say that he was a big R&B and Blues fan to this day. He also said that what put him off northern soul was all the recreational substances people were taking. That said, he is a really lovely man, very funny and has the most incredible memory.
  19. Start as you mean to go on that's my moto. No pussy footing around from this chick I'm afraid, whatever the hour!
  20. Have to say I tend to go with James, although you do have some valid points too Nev. At the end of the day it is a dance scene. Not a sit on your arse scene. I agree, not all soul music lovers are dancers. But where would a venue be without dancers?
  21. It was frustration not aggression Mandy. But I suppose anyone reading would find it hard to differentiate between the two. So fair enough. People may not have posted on behalf of the promoters. But instead of they most definitely did.
  22. Really? So asking whether Little Anthony would definitely be appearing wasn't a perfectly reasonable question? Or whether the event would definitely be going ahead?
  23. Errmm... let me see Could have had something to do with the fact that perfectly reasonable questions weren't being answered. If they had been I wouldn't have had to keep asking would I?
  24. If my posts came across that way it was because people who didn't have a clue what was going on were coming on and posting on behalf of the organisers. Talk about frustrating
