IMO its a modern classic, and is/was big at "modern" nites or the last couple of months. I love it, but my friend Tracy wants to know why theres no chorus.....(she does like a sing-song)

Things You Never See
Y'know I understood everything Brian Rae said during his spot tonight. Good to see Soulsmith sober tonigh (only joking Colin!) I found lots of rarities in that soul pack I got from ....(you fill in the names) those instrumentals Chris King plays are really good aren't they? £2.50 is really reasonable for uk postage on an ebay item

Northern Version Of An Old Classic
Seem to remember having a version of Sonny Boy (Al Jolson) by Barbara Banks on MGM, think it was the other side of That night time feeling. Also don't forget the best soul version of an old tune - Porgy and the Monarchs My heart cries for you - wotatune1 Tony

Len Barry - Ill Always Need You
They used to play Love, love, love at the Torch if my mammary serves me right. I can just about recall a 3 in a row spot when Bobby Hebb, William Bonny and Len Barry were played one after another. They also did this with Roy Hamilton, Crackin' Up and Lee Rogers and Danny White's versions of Cracked Up Over You. On the other hand while I was there I could have sworn I heard a male version of Girls are out to get you, so it might just have been the gear. Tony E

Who First Used The Term - Keep The Faith?
Keep the faith probably goes back a bit further than the 60s, I expect Jesus said something like it, and I know for sure he had a glove.

News:Dr Bob Jones calls it a day in the Uk

Amazing Record

Which Dj's From The Past Would Be Great Today?
to say that Kojak was a character is something of an understatement, to say he was a bit of a wide-boy is nearer the mark. Can any one remember his ill-fated soul extravaganza at the Norbreck Castle in Blackpool in the 70s, a lot of people put their faith in him and were badly let down, he had lots of big ideas but they didn't always come off. But he did give me a chance to dj for him in the early days of Yate, ( I still had to pay to get in though!) Once me and Terry Davis went all the way to Bournemouth from London to play the records before and after the set by the Tymes (Ms Grace was a hit at the time) the attendance was lousy, so me and Terry were fobbed off with £5 for our trouble. What an insult, everybody knew that I didn't dj for less than £7.50 in those days!! Tony

Is This The Worst Record Ever Played On The Scene?
In defence of Suzy's Serenade it made more sense as a dancer in the early days of the scene 'cos the style of dancing was slightly different back then. Sexy Sugar Plum also made sense because there was a dance (that I could never master) that folks used to do to that type of record. Tony

Is This The Worst Record Ever Played On The Scene?
Shadows and Reflections was also done in the UK by the great 60s band the Action. Its excellent by them. The Lonely Crowde is however dog rare. Worst records Lenny Gamble c/u Kiss my love good bye The aeroplane song......

Someone Tell Me I Am Not Dreaming

Northern Soul Holy Grail
So its a shit record and the seller must be from another planet, but I'm sure there weren't that many of us who rushed off the floor at Casino complaining about it. I'm afraid our musical memeories sometimes get clouded in the light of how we feel about those Wigan pop records now. I do seem to remember the floor was still packed for Gary Lewis, Keith, Brian Hyland, Nosmo King, Lorraine Silver and the rest, as much as it was for all the "proper" northern sounds that were played. The Best Soul Pack I Ever Bought
Don't think I'm being cynical, Gavin, but surely no dealer is going to put anything halfway decent in a soul pack these days.
