True.

What's This - Is It Unissued Or What?
Andy Rix still has the only original acetate of Tommy Knight - Baby my love . Some dubs were cut off it by another retired DJ, so I would imagine it is these that are being played now. Â

What's This - Is It Unissued Or What?
I can't hear it, but I'm sure it's that Abtone studio acetate called 'Baby My Love' attributed to Tommy Knight. C/u as Eddie Parker by Gary Spencer / Carl Fortnum.

Little Eva
Little Eva did a song called 'keep your hands off my baby'. There is a song called 'you've been talking about me baby' by Ray Terrance which is female (Ray?) vocal with some bloke (Ray?) talking over bits over it

Suspicion - Detroit Prophets / Originals
It was booted on a UK single as the Detroit Prophets in the 80's which was a tad faster than the original recording as it came of the casettes that were doing the rounds (I think Eddie Holman's 'wanted' was on the other side)
-
Richard Searling
I was lead to believe William Powell was the epitome of Northern for RS until it booted on that LP whilst still covered as Bobby Jason. Following that he got a bit jadded with things and left northern in favour of other newer pastures.
-
Moses Smith
It was booted on the issue. Only originals have a 'LW' then a 'B.F.' and an 'A' in the run out. (Also the boot's label is a lighter orange and less well defined - but thant's not much uses unless you have both at hand to compare)

The Alternative Oldies Room
I've done a bit of soul policing to the thread and re-opened it as I think it's worth while. Also, suggest you take your 'discussion' of the thread and posting to PMs. ta.

early 80's "cover up" malarky
The orange/black/yello label I posted earlier is the original release which Poke was playing covered up in 1982/3. My mate bought it off him for a decent amount and then a few turned up at Soul Bowl with picture sleeves. Blurb about the release on the back of the sleeve attached:

Keni Smith Orig Ot Boot?
If I remember rightly, Kenni Smith told Andy Rix that the Goldspot version 'Lord what's happened' is the original (check the Goldspot publishing on both records). When it was released on GAR they wanted it to have a more gospel feel to it, hence the different version and a title change. And the reason why people   think the Goldspot one are boots, is that orginally a few copies came i to the UK via Simon Soussan

early 80's "cover up" malarky
Thanks for confirming, tought it was. But some of RS c/u were a bit long winded e.g. Nuron was Lamarr Thomas & the Chains That Bind - All Of My Life Waiting for You, outside the chinese take away on the Picadilly road, in the pi**ing rain, in that by the time it been introduced with a few other bits of banter, they were half over!

early 80's "cover up" malarky
I'm sure it was BJT, but you right about the title. RS & Poke often seemed  to use the correct title but with one of the words changed to something that was evidently not in the tit e, to sort of tell you that it was a cover up.
