Football Season 2022/23 cont...
Looks like I'll have to eat my words Steve. It makes you wonder why we so boring for the last two seasons he was in charge. I still hope someone else takes over next season and Roy can leave on a high.

Football Season 2022/23 cont...
Not sure Steve. I was really chuffed when he left and only a club like Palace would reappoint him after he bored us all to death. I can't thinking a performance like we had on Saturday is going to be very far and few between.

Chris King - Sad News RIP
That night involved Tommy Hunt, Ivy Jo Hunter and another? I think Kim & Brenda were on a separate later occasion. Great of him to bring these acts to sing at his events.

Chris King - Sad News RIP
RIP Chris. I used to love the Bretby all-nighters he used to promote with Dave Thorley. He was always very welcoming.

Football Season 2022/23 cont...
I am starting to have second thoughts about him. It's been terrible recently, but still think we'll be ok and will get points against the teams around us. I can't think who would be a better replacement.

CHUCK JACKSON RIP
RIP Chuck. Agree he was one of the all time greats. Such a distinctive voice. There aren't that many people out there who have heard of Chuck Jackson, but there's quite a few who know this song:

Leicester less so than Palace, unfortunately.

I know what you mean Steve but still have faith in Pat. It's a far cry from the terrible, boring football under Roy and I'd hate to go back to that under desperation. I'm sure we'll be fine.

Arsenal had their chances but made mistakes and City were too clinical and too good. Surely they're in the driving seat now.

Burt Bacharach - RIP - Thanks for the music
So many fantastic, beautiful songs. RIP Burt.

Fantasy football
This season couldn't be going any worse. Gareth is top and I'm bottom. I didn't get Haaland in soon enough as I had my doubts about him. I thought Nunez would be a better bet. That's just one of my many bad decisions!

I saw I Wanna Dance With Somebody last night and was very pleasantly surprised. It was more of tribute to Whitney Houston and focussed more on the music rather than the drugs, etc. The songs were great, especially the early stuff and the covers before she got a record deal. The background soundtrack includes some great songs from Stevie, Chaka and Luther. I saw that Rodney Jerkins was the man responsible in the opening credits so I knew it'd be good. It also featured a brief cameo of an actress playing Anita Baker. Superb performance from Stanley Tucci too as Clive Davis.

Are many people on here NOT record collectors?
I don't consider myself a collector. I've got quite a lot of records but only buy what I really like at a low price. A lot of those have gone up but I'm happy keeping them. I'm quite happy buying CDs too.

Mark Kermode’s top 20 music documentaries
Great stuff. I love these types of films and there's quite a few on his list I haven't seen. The recent Bee Gees documentary on Sky is also worth checking out.

Modern Soul Floor Fillers from 90s/00s Mix
I don't do these very often, but I'd thought I'd get in quick before you have to start paying Mixcloud for an upload. A mix of the tunes I used to hear in modern rooms in the late 90s and early 2000s. All were massive floor fillers and still sound fantastic today, especially when played out loud! It includes the likes of Maxwell, Ann Nesby, Lucy Pearl, Chante Moore, Nuyorican Soul, Rahsaan Patterson and Maysa Leak. https://www.mixcloud.com/Dixieeagle/modern-soul-floor-fillers-from-90s00s-mix/

C30 C60 C90 - will you go?
I went through a period of buying tapes when I bought my first car in the last 80s. Sometimes they contained a bonus track which wasn't on the LP. They've been filed away for over 30 years but I had heard recently that there's starting to be a fresh demand for them.

As of this morning, I'm in 4th place and you're in 13th Gareth which gave me a smile, until I saw you're saving your players for today and tomorrow.😬
