Al Green - Keep On Pushing Love
With respect, this "correct" mix is a load of old bollocks. The CD version on Don't Look Back is fantastic and is always the version I've heard out. It's available for a tenner and the rest of the CD is great too. That's all you need.

The Soulful Mr Sam Dees
It wasn't that great. But PA's to backing tracks never are.

The Soulful Mr Sam Dees
I saw Sam sing LFYB and Fragile, Handle with Care at King's Hall Stoke about 8 years ago.

Lee Rogers - Premimium Stuff
Shit! So mine's a boot after all.....

Lee Rogers - Premimium Stuff
Well, it's the much better side I suppose. Wish I bought more in the mid 80s now. I must dig out from the division 2 box.

Lee Rogers - Premimium Stuff
I got mine free when I bought some other stuff from a fella in Southend over 20 years ago. How much is it worth these days?

David Grant
I don't know it Martin. Any chance you could put it up please?

Personally, I think "You're Lying" still sounds great - love the intro. Most of the stuff, particularly his solo records, are pop.

Bobby Womack-not Yet Coverted
I think BW is kinda an acquired taste. I never used to like him. The first song of his I heard was Harry Hippy and I thought it was rubbish (still do!). However, I've really grown to appreciate his talents and the sheer volume of great songs he's given us. One of the all time greats for sure. One that hasn't been mentioned yet is "Cant'cha Hear The Children Calling" on MCA. Haven't got a clip to put up unfortunately.

Soulful House Mix
Simon, why not just put the tracklisting up on the forum mate?

Salsoul
There's lots of good Salsoul CDs. In fact, there's been a recent series released by a UK label (forgotton the name - sorry) and compiled by Ian Dewhirst. Salsoul: the Best of Salsoul Records is a good start and only costs £5 at the most.

The Amy Winehouse Experience
As Stuart said, familiar songs are good to get people interested. When I first got into the music I liked hearing the originals of "Tainted Love", "He Was Really Saying Something" and "Move On Up". I suppose these days it would be originals of songs that have been sampled recently.

Spirit Of The Mecca Cd - Goldsoul
Yep, it has sleevenotes, pictures, etc.

Southern Allnighter
If it had a good modern room, then it might be a goer.

Philly International - The Rare & The Good
Quite right. "You're A Part Of Me" LP from 1988 is also excellent.
-
Mace Made Me Soil Me Undies
Quite right - beautiful song. I wouldn't say it's too slow for the dancefloor at all.
-
Philly International - The Rare & The Good
I've got quite a few Philly white demo doubles. If anyone fancies a swap, please send me a pm.

Mace Made Me Soil Me Undies
"No More Tear Stained Make Up". Not a dancer but one of their finest moments imo. Beautiful lyrics from Smokey Robinson.

It's probably just as well that Matt's original reply is no longer available lol. I remember the kerfuffle well. Neil M & I thought we'd better be on our best behaviour the following visit
