  1. Oooh, you're right ! That explains some of the strange numbers then. Pity it doesn't apply to all of them though. WELL SPOTTED
  2. Would anyone care to comment on the reason for Amazon sending me an email this morning that says "Unfortunately, the release date for the item(s) listed below was changed by the supplier, and we need to provide you with a new estimated delivery date based on the new release date: "Searching for Soul" [Paperback] Estimated arrival date: 21/12/07 - 04/01/08 We are sorry for any inconvenience this causes." Especially as I now know the book is complete and available.
  3. Soul Sam or Blue Max, not sure who is the oldest though
  4. It's actually called 'Whip It On 'Em' and was released in 1990 on Candy CR0038. It also came out on a CD sometime in the last five years, but I can't find that at the moment. Not sure how legit it was though
  5. Yes mate, got one here somewhere. what info do you need ?
  6. I have to be different Male vocal groups and male solo singers edge it for me, but that's not to say that female solo singers don't get a look in. It's just that girl groups haven't got the range of vocals that male groups have, so whilst their voices blend well, they don't harmonise. Look at the Temptations, Melvin Franklin one end and Eddie Kendrick the other. Can anyone give me a similar example of a girl group ?
  7. or someone from the dole office or immigration recognises them
  8. Chalky has made the front page of our local paper with this court decision. Nice photo of him with the group as well.

  10. YES ! Showcase one is a poor imitation, and you know perfectly well what it sounds like young Christopher, you've heard me play it loads of times. You little tinker you
  11. It's not the same cut at all, it's an earlier version of the same song.
  12. If you can identify which tracks ie vol six track 12, I'll put names to them for you cos I've still got all 16 volumes
  13. Probably Paddy Grady if it was in B & S
  14. As all the copie sthat were printed by Bee Cool sold out, the only way you will get one now is through Ebay or someone selling one second hand. Dave
  15. Click on the link below Book Reviews
  16. Not really, it's exactly the same as it says on Amazon But thanks for looking anyway
  17. Just found this on Amazon. Icons Of R & B But I think I'd want to see a copy or speak to someone who has a copy before I lashed out £100 (But you do get free delivery........wow)
  18. Errr...what's the point in covering up an unreleased acetate ?????
  19. Have to agree, even if it was just all the CD liner notes it would still make a fantastic book. If you added in all the stories that didn't make it to the CDs to the book it would be a must buy for every Soul fan in the world. Go on Ady, reconsider doing it. You should have all the liner notes saved on file somewhere, you've got access to graphic designers to put it all together, in fact you could even get it out for Christmas this year if you really tried
  20. 'Business Before Pleasure'
  21. Just thought I'd let everyone know that I've just added the six hundreth artist discography to the website tonight
  22. Try Chris Anderton, there's one on his November list
  23. That could explain a lot
